Plein-air [pleyn-air; Fr. ple-ner] - designating a painting executed out of doors and representing a direct response to the scene or subject in front of the artist.
Plein Air Artists of Riverside (PAAR) is a professional group that offers beginner-friendly year round opportunities for Plein Air Artists to meet and paint. PAAR has two paint outings each month, coordinates quarterly demonstrations by well known Plein Air artists, coordinates and presents exhibitions each year, and holds an annual 9-day Paint Out with an exhibition at RAM.
PAAR is an opportunity for individual painters of any level to take their brushes outside and create representational paintings. And this is a great way of connecting with fellow painters with shared interests.
PAAR is an enthusiastic supporter and participant in the Riverside and Inland Empire arts communities.

Programs/Membership meeting:
PAAR has a three great programs demonstrations /membership meetings each year! They are held Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm at RAM. The next demo/membership meeting will be: Wednesday September 9th, at 6:30 pm. There will be an oil painting demonstration by plein air painter, Debra Holladay.
Programs are free for all PAAR members and $5.00 for non-members. The public is invited to our very interesting programs/demonstrations.

The Plein Air Artist of Riverside (PAAR), affiliated with the Riverside Art Museum (RAM), announces the dates of their 2010 annual PAINT-OUT in Riverside as Saturday, February 20, 2010 through Sunday, February, 29, 2010. During these nine days, members of the group will paint at various locations throughout Riverside. On Saturday there will be a Quick Draw at a location to be determined by the Paint Out Committee at a later date. For information contact President Terry d. Chacon at shacone@aol.com.
