Seventh Annual Paint Out Week
February 18 through February 26, 2012
The Plein Air Artists of Riverside (PAAR), an artist group of the Riverside Art Museum (RAM), will have its 7th Annual Paint Out Week from Saturday, February 18 through February 26, 2012. Artists will paint in plein air by recreating various scenes along the beautiful historic Mission Inn Avenue in Riverside and its surrounding areas throughout the week. They will follow in the tradition of the French Impressionists and capture the light and air of the scenes in front of them. This year’s theme is “Gems of Riverside.”
On February 25, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., there will be a “Quick Draw” with an award ceremony at 12:00 noon, judged by Mark Kerckhoff, www.kerckhoffpaintings.com. Prizes and ribbons will be awarded in the RAM Atrium at 1:30 p.m.
Each artist will exhibit in the Permanent Collection Galleries at RAM, one piece of artwork created during the 9-day event and their Quick Draw painting of the Riverside Art Museum. The exhibit will be from March 31, 2012 through May 18, 2012. The exhibit will be judged by Michael Jacques, www.michaeljacquesfineart.com , and $5,000-worth of cash and product prizes will be awarded. A Gala and Awards Ceremony will be held Saturday, March 31, 2012, from 5:00 p.m.—9:00 p.m. at RAM.
