Art and Science Connection

You can choose to provide enrichment in both art and science with the Art and Science Connection programs designed and taught by a scientist and by an artist. This is a grade specific, standards based program for grades 4th, 5th, and 6th.

The cost for each curriculum to be taught in your classroom is $150.00 for the two lessons, all supplies included. Each curriculum includes 1 art lesson and 1 science lesson. The number of students is limited to 34. This program is available to the Greater Riverside Area.

Art Partners School Tour

Broaden your student’s horizons; visit the Riverside Art Museum for an Art Partners School Tour. The museum is housed in a 1929 Julia Morgan designed building and is a work of art in itself. Rich with history the building and its architect helped to shape the look and culture of downtown Riverside. Our two-hour, guided program allows your students to visit our galleries accompanied by one of our museum educators. We will make the artwork come alive with gallery games and art activities introducing your students to the visual arts, architecture, and hands-on art making. Your tour will be adapted to specific grade levels and meet the California State Curriculum Standards for the Visual Arts.

The fee for the two-hour tour is $70 per classroom with a maximum of 34 students per group. We can accommodate 2 classrooms at a time for a maximum of 68 students during a two-hour session.

Art-to-Go

The Art-to-Go experience is a series of three one-hour lessons designed to introduce your students to the various principles and techniques of studio art. Choose drawing, painting, or mixed media, and we’ll supply the lessons, materials, and expertise to turn your students into budding artists. Transform your classroom into an art studio when you sign up for Art-to-Go.

Curriculum: Explorations in Art: K. to 2nd Grade

• Lesson 1: Mixed Media Drawing
• Lesson 2: Paint and Color
• Lesson 3: Sculpture

Each lesson meets the Visual and Performing Arts Content Standards for California Public Schools and is adapted for specific grade levels.

The cost for each curriculum taught in your classroom is $175.00 for three lessons, all supplies included. The number of students is limited to 34. Combining classes is discouraged. If classes are combined the fee is $225. This program is available to the Greater Riverside Area.

We encourage you to follow your Art-to-Go visits with a two-hour Art Partners Tour and Hands-On Art Experience at the Riverside Art Museum. When you combine Art-to-Go and Art Partners, the price of both programs is $235 (a savings of $10, Art Partners is regularly $70).

The Riverside Art Museum Youth Education teachers are not authorized to conduct our Art-to-Go programs at a school site unless there is a qualified school representative present who is responsible for student behavior and well-being.
